Advice from experienced summer residents

To make it simpler and easier to start arranging your dacha, you should take note of some advice from experienced summer residents:

  1. First you need to write a plan and divide the dacha plot into all the desired zones.
  2. You shouldn’t rush to throw away old things, because there are a lot of interesting ideas for making your own garden using unnecessary things.
  3. All decorative items must be made in the same style and combine harmoniously with each other.
  4. When designing original flower beds, you should make sure that they can be easily watered if necessary.
  5. Try to make and place all products in such a way as to minimize injuries.

Crafts from bottles for the garden

Plastic forms up to 80% of the total mass of waste. It practically does not decompose (up to 500 years), but at the same time it has many valuable properties for needlewomen; thin, durable, flexible, colorful. And a great many things can be made from them.

Let's present the most interesting ideas from plastic bottles for the garden with your own hands with photos and descriptions.

Decorative figures

Creating simple figures from a bottle does not require much time and effort. The main thing in this matter is your imagination:

  • Take an ordinary plastic bottle;
  • All labels must be removed by first soaking them in water;
  • Rinse the inside of the bottles and dry them;
  • And then, use bottles of various shapes and create the desired shape;
  • You can attach the parts to the base using glue;
  • Sharp cutting edges must be processed over fire or applied to an iron;
  • When the entire figure to be made is assembled, start painting with acrylic paints.

Flowerpots

It’s easy to build a flower pot from unnecessary plastic bottles:

  • Wash and dry the bottle well;
  • Using a sharp knife, cut out half of the side flat part to form a container;
  • If necessary, ears, a tail, legs are made and attached to the cut out bottle;
  • All that remains is to paint the resulting figure in the desired color.

Flowerbeds

If you have a lot of bottles, decorate your garden flower bed with your own hands. Photos and interesting ideas are posted here. For the flowerbed you need:

  • The bottles must be the same size;
  • Fill each bottle with sand for greater stability;
  • When everything is ready, dig the bottles into an even row by about a third;
  • Now you can paint your fence the color you want, but you can paint each bottle in advance.

Irrigation system

As you know, tomatoes do not like humid air and prefer drip watering. It's easy to organize using a plastic bottle:

  • In a bottle, a hot nail or awl is used to make a hole in the bottom and bottom of the bottle;
  • When planting tomatoes in the ground nearby, this bottle is dug to its full depth, sticking out to the surface 3-4 cm with its neck;
  • Your task is to periodically add water to the bottle. Through the holes made, it will feed the root system of the plant.

It’s even easier to make a sprinkler:

  • Several rows of holes are made in the bottle on one side;
  • A hose is placed over the neck and wrapped tightly with electrical tape;
  • When water is supplied under pressure, the jets fly several meters apart.

Bird feeders

It's very easy to make a bird feeder:

  • Holes are cut in the bottle on opposite sides of the bottle. Moreover, on one side the hole is larger. You can make two holes at different levels of the bottle;
  • A wooden spoon or spatula is inserted into the finished holes;
  • Grain, seeds, small crackers are poured into the bottle;
  • It should turn out that the smaller hole is closed with a stick, and food pours out of the larger hole onto a spoon or spatula;
  • The feeder can be hung on a tree;
  • The disadvantage of this feeder is that when it snows, the hole with the feed becomes covered with snow, the grain freezes and stops falling out.

In this case, the classic shape of a feeder, cut from a large square bottle, is suitable. It can be decorated and painted in the form of different toys.

Scoop

It is very convenient to make a scoop from an empty plastic bottle. Simply cut the bottle diagonally, lengthening the bottom.

Good scoops are obtained from under plastic containers with a handle (for example, from under fabric softener and synthetic oil). You need to cut off the bottom of the container diagonally, leaving the handle.

Broom

No one will argue that a broom is a useful thing not only in the garden. It is also easy and simple to make from plastic bottles:

  • We take 5-7, or more, bottles of the same size. Better 2-3 liter;
  • Cut off the bottom of each bottle;
  • We put one aside, cut off the neck of the rest;
  • And now we cut all the bottles without a bottom lengthwise into strips 1-1.5 cm wide;
  • On the bottle with a neck we put all the other bottles without a neck;
  • Another bottle is cut crosswise in half;
  • On the upper part we make cuts on the sides, approximately 5-8 cm;
  • We put this blank on the made broom, we get two necks side by side;
  • We insert the stalk into both necks and secure it;
  • The lower part, the pile, is flattened and sewn with wire.

Your imagination, a little ingenuity and a bunch of unnecessary trash will turn an unsightly area into a blooming garden. The main thing is not to be afraid to take on something new.

Original flower beds at the dacha

There is no dacha that doesn’t have at least one flower bed on it, and you want to decorate it as uniquely and originally as possible, so that you won’t be able to take your eyes off it.

Naturally, for a flower bed it is very important which plants and flowers will be planted in it, but also the design itself.

As the main material for decorating a flower bed, you can use various materials: plastic and glass bottles, stones, shoes, pieces of furniture, a car tire, a bucket, a watering can and even a bicycle...

Interesting idea for a garden

To make your garden look original, there are also a lot of great ideas. You can decorate it with handmade crafts. All available materials will be used.

Garden paths

They can be laid out from tiles, but we are not looking for standard solutions. Therefore, we take round-shaped logs and cut them in half to make a hemisphere. Next, everything is simple. We lay out the paths tightly, placing one log next to another. Can be placed either round or straight. You can also take regular boards. An excellent, natural option.

There is another idea. You will need mortar and tiles, natural stone, paving stones and more borders. It's simple - we first make the path around the perimeter using curbs. We lay out the shape of the trail from them in advance. Next, fill in the solution and lay out natural stone, tiles or other materials in any order.

You can use the most budget option - bottles. You need to take both plastic and glass. They are simply dug into the ground. You can pre-paint the bottles in different colors and then create a design. For you, the canvas is the soil, the paints are the bottles.

A very beautiful option is to use old cut trees for decoration and to create paths. The trunk can be varnished by placing it on the site, if it has an interesting shape, or cut into small circles, and then make paths.

You can also combine different methods in your area. Just be careful not to overdo it so that the garden doesn’t look tacky.

Shoe flowerbed

Beautiful photo ideas for a do-it-yourself garden using unnecessary things, namely shoes as a flower bed, very often arouse interest.

Making this type of flower bed will not be difficult, and it will not require too much time and materials. You can place either one or even a whole path on the site with such original mini-flower beds.

You can use any shoes, both adults and children, maybe in pairs, or not.

  2. You can use the utensils themselves as a flower bed, for example a teapot, pan, mug.
  3. Use plates as a border for a flower bed.

Tire flower bed

Car tire is the most popular material for flowerbed decoration. There are various options for creating a flower bed from this material, both the simplest and the most complex, which require considerable time.

The simplest option is to paint the tire in the desired color, place it on the ground, cover the inside with soil, and plant it with flowers.

Garden crafts made of stone

As a rule, stone is a free, easily accessible material that lies, literally, right under your feet. Any shape of stones, round pebbles, flat flagstones or shapeless cobblestones are suitable for crafts.

Garden figurines made of pebbles

Painted stones in the shape of insects and animals look impressive, especially when placed among the greenery of bushes or flower beds.

Making such a craft is not at all difficult:

  • First, the round pieces need to be thoroughly washed and dried;
  • Apply the selected design with a simple pencil;
  • Paint with bright acrylic or fluorescent paints;
  • Glue the stones together using cement glue in the form of an invented figure;
  • To preserve the design and shine, the figurine is coated with varnish.

If you choose pebbles of the same size, you can build vases and flower pots. And a real mini castle made of stone built in the middle of the plot will simply create a sensation among the neighbors.

The manufacturing technique is simple:

  • A large round, preferably flat, pebble is selected as the bottom. But you can take an iron tray from an old bucket, fill it with a layer of cement and lay it out with pebbles;
  • A layer of cement several layers of pebbles high is applied to the side walls of the bucket or any other base;
  • Pebbles are pressed into the cement layer in a certain order, creating a pattern;
  • After the first few layers, you need to wait for the cement to bond, then apply the next layers of pebbles on them;
  • To make a basket handle, you can take an iron strip or other flat, durable material. The strip is bent in an arc and inserted into the finished basket shape. Stones cemented together are laid out on the arc. You cannot lift the product by the handle;
  • For the castle towers, you can take an old iron barrel or a plastic five-liter bottle.

Garden figurines made of flagstone

In general, flagstone comes from sandstone and slate. Both of these minerals have a weak structure and easily disintegrate and break. Making garden figures is difficult due to the fragility of the material. But thanks to its shape and flat, even sides, flagstone is ideal for laying out walls and paths. They decorate flower beds, rockeries, alpine slides, fountains, ponds, arches, paths. The flagstone is held together with cement to build the wall. On paths you can do without screeds.

Garden figurines made of cobblestones

These are stones of various shapes and sizes. They have been used in garden decoration for a long time. They are used to lay out the edges of flower beds, decorate walls, and masonry craftsmen make fireplaces and outdoor stoves.

You can simply paint the stone in the shape of a house:

  • Wash it well and dry it;
  • Using acrylic paints, paint a house and a roof;
  • Let dry and varnish.

Path made of wood logs

At every dacha, logs appear from time to time and they can be used to design a path in the garden. To do this, it will be enough to cut them into rings, about 10-15 cm, and drive them halfway into the ground. It is only advisable to place them as close to yourself as possible, so that there are no large gaps. You can also design paths in the recreation area in this way.

To create a decorative flower bed, tires do not have to be the same shape and size. The multi-tiered flower bed looks beautiful:

  • Select the necessary tires, paint each one;
  • Place it in a flowerbed;
  • The tires are fastened from the inside with self-tapping screws;

Vases

Advice!

To make the knife slide more easily on the rubber, it needs to be dipped in a soap solution. The rubber will become softer after lying in direct sunlight for a couple of hours.

Decorative figures

All figures are divided into two types: from cut and uncut tires.

What they don’t do from cut tires:

Parrots, roosters, crocodiles, dragons, dinosaurs, elephants, cranes, snails, even palm trees. What is enough imagination? Rubber blanks are cut, or the tire itself is cut lengthwise in a circle. The head, tail, and plumage are cut out from the central part of the tire. It depends on what kind of figure you have in mind. All parts of the rubber are fastened with self-tapping screws. Then they are painted with oil paint. It is more resistant to external influences.

Making a swan:

  • Two semicircles are cut out on each side of the tire;
  • From the central part with a protector (pattern), a tail is cut out on one side and a head on a long neck on the other side;
  • The workpiece is turned in the opposite direction. It should look like the wings and tail are bent outward;
  • To stabilize the neck, a wire is attached to it along its entire length.

All sorts of shapes are also made from uncut tires:

  • As a rule, solid tires are fastened together, depicting the body of a figure, head, paws, legs;
  • Additional parts, a tail, ears, are cut out of several individual tires;
  • Assemble the figure, fastening all parts with self-tapping screws;
  • A round piece of plywood or chipboard is also attached to the sides of each tire with self-tapping screws. This gives stability to the entire figure and fills the gap;
  • The finished product is painted with oil paints.

Children will certainly appreciate this craft. For the swing you will need one tire.

  1. A well-washed tire is cut on one side in a semicircle, the other side is cut off entirely, from the center to the tread pattern. Turn the tire with the pattern inside out, while inserting the part of the tire with the pattern behind the remaining sidewall, creating the seat and back of the swing. Chains or ropes are bolted to the finished seat. You can hang it.
  2. A simpler option involves not cutting the tire, but attaching chains (3-4 pieces) to it and hanging it on a tree. Construction bolts are used for fastening.
  3. Cut the tire into two parts crosswise. A board with handles is attached to each part at the cut site for convenience. It turns out to be a rocking chair.
