Varieties of lovely rose mix. Features of growing and caring for flowers at home

Description, varieties and varieties

Rosa Mix is a miniature representative of the Rosaceae or Rosehip family. In its natural environment, this beauty grows in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. This variety came to Europe at the beginning of the 19th century and quickly won the love of flower growers due to its miniature size and high decorative value. After all, the bright buds on such roses last up to 7 months.

Breeders have developed many varieties of attractive plants. The following varieties are especially popular among gardeners:

  • Rose Mix Parade. The most popular type that easily takes root at home. The height of the plant reaches no more than 30 cm.
  • Patio Mix. The rose grows up to 50 cm in height. It is distinguished by larger buds, bush diameter and long flowering.
  • Rosa Cordana Mix. An unpretentious species, reaching 30 cm in height. The buds are small, but bright and fragrant.
  • Turbo Mix. Roses of this species are distinguished by large buds and a variety of shades of petals.

Each of these varieties will decorate your collection of home flowers. But for this you will need to create comfortable conditions for the beauty. History of origin

For the first time there was a conspiracy about the rose of Cordan in the 19th century.
In 1810, European countries imported dwarf tea roses from China. Flower growers really liked these varieties, they were especially impressed by their size. A little later, breeders began crossing dwarf tea roses with other varieties of plants of this genus. Miniature roses received the name Cardana in honor of the flower breeder who was involved in their breeding, Wilhelm Cordes.

What to do after purchase?

Before sale, the Mix rose is placed in a peat substrate. This soil retains moisture for a long time, which reduces the need to care for the plant in the store. But such soil is not suitable for long-term cultivation. Therefore, after purchase, it is important to replant the crop.

Start the event when the rose has acclimatized to your conditions. Typically this takes 10–12 days. At this time, water the flower regularly, preventing the soil from drying out. And don’t forget to spray the foliage periodically.

Soil and pot

For homemade rose Mix you need special soil, which can be bought at a flower shop. To make your own substrate, mix turf soil with peat and sand in a 2:2:1 ratio. But be sure to disinfect the mixture before planting. Otherwise, the plant will suffer from pathogenic microbes living in the soil. Before the event, add some granular fertilizer to the mix.

Rose Mix takes root better in ceramic pots with a glazed surface. Their dimensions should exceed the volume of the roots by no more than 2–3 cm. And the pots should also have drainage holes. Before the event, it is advisable to soak such containers in warm water for 2 hours. Then the material will be saturated with moisture and will not then draw water out of the soil.

Preparing for shelter

Many varieties of roses bloom on last year's shoots. Therefore, the shoots that grew this year must be protected from freezing. To do this, you will have to cover the roses from severe frosts with agrofibre for the winter.

Hybrid tea roses do not need to be covered. It is enough to cover them well with loose, dry soil after a slight negative temperature has established. The land for hilling is prepared in advance. Do not hill up with sand or sawdust: they absorb too much moisture, thereby creating a favorable environment for the development of diseases. In addition, sand freezes through in cold weather, and sawdust may contain wood fungi that can also infect rose stems.

Crouching to the ground

The next stage in preparing the bushes for shelter is bending down. You need to bend down the roses before frost sets in, otherwise the frozen shoot will certainly break when you start laying it on the ground. You can secure each branch or group of shoots separately with hooks. Or you can tie the entire bush with a rope and bend it down, hooking the hooks not to the branches, but to the rope.

Different varieties of roses bend in different ways: some easily lie on the ground, while others resist. In this case, in order not to break the branches, I bend the bush in several passes. I do it this way: I hook another rope to the rose bush or the rope tying it and gradually pull the bush with it, tying the rope to a hook driven into the ground.

You can do it differently. A friend of mine simply places a wide board on the bush and gradually weights it down with bricks. Helps
